The Koala Kept his Kite in a Kettle

Thank goodness for Jack's two-hour naps and my helper, Brittany, who watches Jack two afternoons a week while I paint down the hall. Otherwise, I'd never get any painting done.

I now have all the letters for "JACKSON" completed and it will soon be hanging on Jack's bedroom wall.

The Whacky Whale Water skied on Wild Waves

I really struggled with the wave in this painting. Most of it is actually cut off - poor planning on my part. I think I need to scrape away paint to show more white. Does it even look like a wave? I'm not convinced.

Do you know how many types of whale there are? And they all look so different from each other. It was tough deciding which kind to include in this painting, but ultimately decided on a blue whale.

The Impatient Ibex Ignored the Inquisitive Insect

So, here's the Ibex. I had a difficult time with this background. My original attempt made it look as though he was standing in front of a forest fire. So, I added a wash of New Gamboge (yellow) and it took the fiery look down a notch.

At this size, it's probably hard to see the bug on his nose.

It looks like I'll be taking part in next June's "Uncommon Art on the Common" Art Festival in Bristol, RI. By then I'll have all the letters done and hopefully can sell more than a few prints. I'm trying to come up with alternative items I can sell with these paintings on them, like notecards or something. I want to have a good price range in my booth. If you have any good ideas on that, please share them with me.

The Manatee Made Marvelous Music with Maracas

So, here's the letter M. Doing a manatee was fun. I did also finish the letter I, but forgot to scan it before giving it to the printer. I should get it back tomorrow, so I'll post it soon.
