The Jolly Jaguar Jumped over the Jack-o'-lantern

This painting was a lot of fun to do. I've never painted a spotted cat before and enjoyed studying reference photos for what a jaguar looks like. I decided to keep the background very plain, as the jaguar's fur is so busy. I hope the blue isn't too light, though. I'd appreciate hearing opinions on this.

By the way, does anyone know what the difference is between a jaguar and a leopard? I need to look that up, because they look pretty much the same to me.

I'm not an artist by any means and I think the light blue looks great, but maybe a brighter shade would set off the oranges in the picture...

You are SuperWoman for having the ability to get these done with a baby! You Rock!

I llike the light background. Makes him look like he's soaring through the air. If you don't like it, you could put something L-eafy in the background, but I think it's great.
