Stupid Computer

Well, my computer finally died, just as my husband predicted. I can access the internet on his machine, but he doesn't have a scanner or Photoshop, so I'm out of luck with updating this blog for a while.

I should be giving birth any day now anyway, so I probably won't have much to post. Waiting for my son's arrival has left me completely unable to concentrate on painting or anything else. I've done a few sketches of Osiris - how can I resist when he gets into those crazy sleeping poses? - but little else.

I hope to have a new computer soon!

Osiris

I apologize for the lack of posts this month. I don't have much of an internet connection (wireless) on my computer lately and it's too frustrating to even try to post. But, I seem to be having a good day today, so I'm giving it a shot.

This is a recent watercolor sketch - no foundation drawing - of Osiris stretched out in Chris's office. I did it in my little Moleskine watercolor sketchbook, which I do like for the most part. My only complaint is that the paper is a tiny bit too absorbant and won't let me push the paint around the way I like. I used my little Winsor Newton travel palette and a Niji waterbrush.

Daily Painting - Elegant Trogon

I apologize for my lack of posts. Our home internet connection has been spotty at best, making it pretty much impossible to add anything to our blogs. I'm taking advantage of a few minutes here to post things very quickly.

I have become very good about doing a painting each day. Here is one of my recent favorites, though it doesn't quite fit my parameters of fast and simple. Still, he's awfully pretty, isn't he?

I got the most fabulous book - an encyclopedia of North American birds. It's full of beautiful, full-color, close-up photos like this. There's nothing like good photo references.

This was painted with my Daniel Smith paints on Strathmore cold press watercolor paper.
